The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung London office closely collaborates with partners in the fields of politics, think tanks, academia, and civil society in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Political dialogue, analysis, and information are our core tasks. Our goal is to strengthen cross-border cooperation and mutual understanding. We achieve this through a variety of projects and dialogue programs aimed at enhancing people’s understanding of each other and enabling more effective collaboration. We contribute to fostering constructive and friendly dialogue in the face of significant political challenges.
Our annual German-British Dialogue in Cadenabbia, our flagship political project, brings together German and British parliamentarians to discuss current political developments and explore avenues for bilateral cooperation. In line with our project objectives, we facilitate the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and solutions with think tanks and academic institutions to address current issues. By exchanging insights and experiences, we strengthen relationships between Germany, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, as well as within our broader European and international network.
The KAS with its headquarters in Berlin is a political foundation closely associated with the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU). Freedom, justice, and solidarity are the fundamental principles that underpin the work of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation group. As a co-founder of the CDU and the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Konrad Adenauer (1876-1967) united Christian-social, conservative, and liberal traditions. His name stands for the democratic reconstruction of Germany, the firm orientation of foreign policy towards the transatlantic community of values, the vision of a united Europe, and the turn towards a social market economy. His intellectual legacy still serves as our goal and our commitment today.
We continue Adenauer’s legacy by advocating for a self-determined life in freedom and dignity, in line with Germany’s global responsibility. With over 100 offices worldwide, we play a unique role in promoting democracy, the rule of law, and a social market economy.
