About us
The significance of our overseas association is becoming increasingly important as a large number of German citizens work and reside in the United Kingdom, either temporarily or permanently. Due to Brexit, many European institutions and international organisations have decoupled from the UK, leading to complex issues. As such, our association sees itself as a forum that allows the party in Germany to leverage this wealth of expertise on British-German matters.
The CDU chapter in the United Kingdom is distinguished by its strong British-German focus. We therefore view another crucial task of our association as representing the political ideas of the CDU in Germany within the European context and sustainably promoting the exchange of ideas on UK and German politics.
We also offer all politically interested Germans the opportunity to participate in internal party decision-making processes and political debates in Germany from London. Additionally, our party members can competently report on the acceptance of German policies abroad. Therefore, we also focus on a vigorous exchange of ideas with the Conservative Party in the UK.
