DATEV eG is the third-largest provider of business software in Germany (according to the IDC ranking in 2023) and one of the major European IT service providers. Founded in 1966, the cooperative of the tax consulting profession generated a revenue of 1.44 billion euros in the 2023 fiscal year.
Based in Nuremberg, the company provides the foundation for digital collaboration between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and their tax advisors, who manage the businesses’ financial matters, through software, cloud solutions, and expertise. Through this community, DATEV supports a total of 2.8 million businesses, self-employed individuals, municipalities, associations, and institutions. National companies represent national interests and we support German trade members in international matters. This is why DATEV has already started to build a network to strengthen members of the profession in all areas – Europe-wide, nationally and locally. For this reason, DATEV began to look further outside Europe. Since establishing the transoceanic alliance with the Japanese company TKC, DATEV has been looking for solutions to the cross-border concerns of its members. At the beginning of the 21st century, DATEV opened up new markets within the European Union. With the establishment of DATEV.cz s.r.o. to assist tax consultants in the Czech Republic and Germany with local clients, DATEV pursued its goal of supporting its members internationally. Further market expansions with new locations in Austria, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Spain, and Slovakia offer individual local solutions with DATEV’s quality standards. As a result of increasing cross-border trade and growing European legal and tax issues, DATEV maintains an Information Office in Brussels, at the heart of the European Union.
